Inn Keepers
Dave and Melody

Dave and Melody met in Spokane WA., and married in June of 1979.  They have 2 grown daughters Sheena and Dawn, and welcomed their son-in-law Jason Kalso into the family August of 2005. This addition has brought the hope of “grandparenthood” which is something they remind them of whenever given a chance.  The opening of Cabin Creek B&B has been a long time dream of Melody’s, and Dave became just as excited when he got a look at the breakfast menus.  Dave keeps himself busy as a Real Estate Broker www.davespicerrealty.com , keeping the landscaping up to his standards, and working on the ongoing list of projects around the B&B that Melody always seems to come up with. When he’s not selling real estate, or has misplaced the “list” you’ll find Dave on his Harley Davidson Road King Classic. Central Oregon offers a lot of beautiful motorbike rides. If you want more information about that, Dave would be glad to share.  As for Melody, when she’s not on the back of Dave’s Harley, you’ll most likely find her in the kitchen cooking, looking for something to clean, or enjoying a conversation with a new guest.  Because of her love of people and gift of hospitality, she feels she’s found her niche in the B&B industry.

Mike and Jane are great "Inn Sitters" when Dave and Melody are away.  The two met through a mutual friend in Portland, Oregon, and married in 1993.  Mike was just completing his 30 year career as a detective with the Portland Police Bureau, and Jane was a few short years of completing her 30 year career as a Nurse Practitioner in neurosurgery in Portland.  After retiring, Mike and Jane moved to Tucson, Arizona, where they built their dream house, and began their new pastime as golfers, and exploring the western states on their motorcycle.  About five years passed before the milder temperatures of the San Diego area beckoned.  They moved to the wine country of Temecula, California, and built a house on yet another golf course.  But, eventually they realized they were homesick for the mountains, rivers, lakes, huge fir trees, and wonderful people of the Northwest, so in 2007, Mike and Jane moved back to their beloved Northwest.  Since retiring, Mike and Jane have traveled extensively in Europe, cruised the Aegean and Caribbean, and spent extended periods in the Hawaiian Islands.  Jane continues to enjoy planning and developing the landscaping of their home, playing her baby grand piano, reading, and working occasionally as a Nurse Practitioner. Mike continues his lifetime enjoyment of playing his collection of guitars, reading, and pampering their sports car.

Jack - Melody’s father is a great help around the property. You’ll find him mending fences, taking care of the horses, and doing just about anything else that is needing done.  He’s a “Cowboy” from years past returning to the lifestyle he grew up with, only with some amenities that weren’t available 60 years ago.  Don’t let him kid you, he may love to reminisce about the old days, but you won’t find him complaining about the conveniences of today.
